Hlavní hrdina, vyvrhel na škole pro nejhorší delikventy, Oga Tatsumi vede svůj obyčejný život plný bitek se spolužáky a psaním mangy se svým kamarádem Furuichim. Jednoho dne u řeky najde podivné mimino. I přes jeho značnou snahu zbavit se onoho stvoření, si ho mimino oblíbí a nechce se od něj odtrhnout. Po čase zjistí, že mimino není obyčejný člověk, ale Kaiser de Emperana Beelzebub IV. - budoucí pekelný král. Oga byl nedobrovolně vybrán, aby budoucího krále pekla vychoval. Tím se dostává na cestu plnou pekelných eskapád.
